Nifty opened the trading session around 40 points down. In the early trade index started climbing up after the gap down opened gap down. Sell off started in tune with other asian markets and Nifty fell down fast after breaching the 100 DMA. Nifty lost 147 points and finally closed 3.1% down at 4563.

- Bharti Airtel(+1.9%), Sun Pharma(+1.19%), Cipla(+1.10%) and Maruti(+0.76%) were the top gainers in the Nifty stocks

- Nifty is around 11.9% down from this years high of 5181
- Metals, Energy and Cement were the worst performers.
