Taking negative cues from world markets Nifty opened around 40 points down. In the first half of the trading session Nifty was not going anywhere, it traded in narrow range of 4760 - 4785 till 1.15pm. Later on the day Nifty saw the violent fast volatile move in both direction, typical of an expiry day. Nifty finally closed 75 points down at 4750(-1.57%).
- M&M(3.75%), Ranbaxy(2.88%), BPCL(2.46%), ONGC (1.86%) and Gail (1.80%)were the top performers in the Nifty stocks.
- DLF(-7.32%), RCom(-6.98%), Reliance Capital(-5.88%), Unitech(-5.75%) and RPower(-5.75%) were the top losers.

- Metals and Industrial Manufacturing were the worst performers of the day
- Index Options PCR is at 1.06
- India VIX is at 28.22
- FII's continues to be net sellers in cash market with equities worth Rs.2546 Cr
- DII's were net buyers in cash market with equities worth Rs977 Cr
- S&P 500 has closed at 1066(+2.25%)
- SGX Nifty is up at +36 points
- USD Index is at 75.96 (-0.67%)
