
At opening bell Nifty was up 10 points, then in tune with the last week's behaviour sell off started Nifty touched 4962 with in 10 minitues from the opening trade. Then some buying seen which gradually took the Nifty to its day high at 5033 around 1.30pm. Again selling started which brought down the benchmark index to day's low at 4961 and finally closing the shop near day's low at 4970. At close Nifty was down 0.52% from its previous close.
- Cipla(3.96%), Ranbaxy(2.62%), Tata Steel(1.94%), Tata Motors(1.71%) and ITC (1.59%) were the top gainers among the Nifty stocks.
- Unitech(5.58%), DLF(5.53%), Suzlon(4.15%), Idea(3.82%) and RCom(3.79%) were the top losers.
- 17 stocks in the Nifty index advanced while 33 stocks declined
- Index Options PCR is at 1.12
- 5000 level remain as the most important level to watch for
- Call options have added 56, 750 contracts in OI , where as put options have added 13 lakh contracts in OI
- Pharma was the best performing sector in the market, it was followed by consumer goods sector
- Telecom sector continues to be the worst hit.
- S&P 500 has closed at 1066.95 down 1.17%.
